Given that this was the institutions first completely online program, I was highly involved in the development of design protocols; faculty selection and training processes; faculty development opportunities; and course models.
As a manager, I believe that service is the centerpiece of leadership. When managing groups, I focus on an individual’s ownership of responsibilities, placing a premium on their ability to understand the needs of the community they serve, collaborate with others to accomplish their goals, and focus on the “we” not “me” aspect of all assignments. This leadership style allowed me to attract and retain highly skilled and dedicated staff.
As the Director of Instructional Technology at Immaculata University, I was responsible for managing the instructional technology staff and chairing the University Technology Council. As the Director of the graduate program in Instructional Design and faculty member at Philadelphia University (PhillyU), I designed and successfully shepherded the Tier II Teaching Specialist program for K-12 educators in Instructional Technology through the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware state assessment and certification process.
