Startup accelerator SparkLab announced on the 16th that it will hold a 10th anniversary demo day, SparkLab Demo Day X, at the COEX Auditorium on November 3.

SparkLab’s Demo Day is an event where startups of each rider who have participated in SparkLab’s accelerator (initial startup growth support) program for about four months disclose their achievements and visions to investors and corporate officials.

SparkLab introduced Silicon Valley-style startup Demo Day for the first time in Korea in March 2013. Until the 18th, the cumulative number of registrants was 26000. Marking the 10th anniversary of its establishment this year, SparkLab will resume a large-scale offline event that was replaced by an online event in the aftermath of COVID-19 in more than three years.

On this Demo Day, nine early startups and SparkLab portfolios that are currently participating in the 19th program will participate to showcase startups at various investment stages. There are also various business areas such as green tech (eco-friendly technology), healthcare (health care), software as a service (SaaS), food tech (food technology), and data.

Demo Day speakers include actor Ming Na-wen, who starred in Disney Plus’ hit films “Mandalorian,” “Book of Boba Pet” and Marvel’s “Agent of Shield” series. The match will be held with Marcos Lynch, one of the best running backs in the U.S. National Football League (NFL). Industry investment experts will participate to share advice on next year’s investment trends.

Spark Lab co-CEO Kim Yoo-jin said, “Spark Lab has grown into a representative startup hub in Northeast Asia, which has produced 23 unicorns (unlisted companies worth more than 1 trillion won) over the past decade,” adding, “Spark Lab’s demo day, which was held in front of only 150 audiences, has already become an event for 3,000 entrepreneurial ecosystem officials.”

Anyone can attend Spark Lab’s Demo Day for free by registering in advance through the Eventus and Spark Lab Demo Day website. It will also prepare live streaming and online startup booths through online platforms.
