The Gyeongsangbuk-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services signed a mutual cooperation agreement (MOU) with Naver Cloud on the 2nd to “develop big data and artificial intelligence-based Gyeongbuk smart agricultural technology and activate services.”

Officials attended the meeting, including Shin Yong-sup, head of the Agricultural Technology Institute of North Gyeongsang Province, Ryu Jae-joon, director of Naver Cloud, and Ahn Eun-ki, CEO of UBN.

This business agreement will be signed by Naver Cloud for the first time with local governments and will first support big data collection and AI services for Korean melons.

Gyeongsangbuk-do Province has the largest number of crops in the country, of which melon is a life-like industry in the region, with a record-high tidal profit of 576.3 billion won this year in Seongju, the main production area.

Korean melon, Korea’s representative fruit named Korea Melon by the Codex, plans to support excellent technology and infrastructure because it is necessary to overcome the upcoming climate crisis and labor shortage.
